Job Responsibilities:
Automotive Body Shop Estimators examine damaged vehicles and estimate repair costs.
Automotive Body Shop Estimator works with the insurance companies to manage the claims for our customers
Follows up to ensure customer satisfaction with repairs
Follows up to ensure productivity within the shop
Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtains vehicle information.
Writes up customers vehicle problems accurately and clearly on repair order.
Establishes customers method of payment obtaining credit approval if necessary
Checks on progress of repair throughout the day.
Contacts customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explains cost and time requirements in detail, and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed
Reviews repair orders to ensure that work is completed and additional work and authorization is noted
Closes repair order as appropriate
Examines damaged vehicle to determine extent of structural, body, mechanical, or interior damage
Estimates cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item.
Reviews repair cost estimates with body shop manager or foreman
Determines feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts, such as bumpers, fenders, and doors.
Evaluates practicality of repair as opposed to payment of vehicle market value before accident
Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
Experience in the estimating / body shop / automotive field / minimum of two years
Insurance company estimator a big +
Valid Drivers License required
Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screen
Skills:
Confidence to handle high volumes under pressure
Knowledge in Estimating CCC Pathways / CCC One
Effectively communicate with insurance companies and customers
Strong organizational and computer skills
