Job Descriptions:Memphis Auto Auction, a division of United Auto Delivery and Recovery, is continuing to GROW! Now with over 300 employees across 10 states, we are looking for a driven and hard working individual who loves to work around cars and provide exceptional customer service. As an auto condition inspector, or Condition Report Writer (CRW), your main responsibility is to log body and mechanical damage present on incoming vehicle inventory for a broad range of auction clients. CRWs are also responsible for maintaining lot inventory in proper locations, marking vehicles for sale, including appropriate client labeling, moving vehicles, and assist other lot/security crew as necessary. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include, but may not be limited to:Physically examining exterior and interior of each vehicle.
Documenting any damage and the estimating repair cost(s) in an electronic or written format, depending on the client is needs.
Test driving each unit, checking for any abnormal drivability issues, including engine and transmission problems.
Maintaining vital communications with Fleet Lease, Mechanic, and Detail Department. Keeping each department informed of any issue (s) and assist in movement of vehicles through the auction process.
Responsible for placing vehicle in proper staging zone post-CR (i.e. mechanics detail and inventory).
Required Experience:Must be able to drive standard and manual transmission vehicles.
Ability to distinguish if body work has been performed and determine quality of work.
Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and evaluate needed repairs.
Mechanical, paint & body knowledge a plus. Good penmanship, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential.
Above average computer skills.
Must be willing to work outdoors in all kinds of weather.
Basic knowledge of office equipment a plus (fax, copier).
Requires excellent time management, organizational skills and strong communication skills.
Self starter who requires limited supervision.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Successfully pass MVR, Background and Drug screenings.
