DescriptionRobert Half Technology is supporting a local client who needs a Systems Engineer to join the team for a project. This short-term temporary employment opportunity is based in the Memphis, TN area.Your responsibilities in this role
Follow and analyze application performance for potential bottlenecks, detect possible solutions, and work together with developers to fulfill those fixes
Collaborate with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
Hold up redundancy strategies, backup, and security
Effectively guarantee the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
Configure, test, maintain, and install application software, system management tools, and operating systems
Control and watch all installed systems and infrastructure
Compose and sustain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
Requirements
This position will be the best fit for a candidate who has experience with automation software
If you have experience with virtualization and containerization, you will be strongly preferred for this position
Solid networking knowledge is required for success at this position
This position requires a candidate with proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting various operating systems
5+ years of relevant experience - This position requires a candidate with experience with monitoring systems
This position will be the best fit for a candidate with solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks
Server Migration experience
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 experience desired
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2019
