The Collections Specialist will help ensure our company’s financials are accurate, timely, and relevant. You will assist in cash management, collection activities, chargeback/allowance disputes, month-end close, and other duties as assigned by management.
  • Performs daily collection activities, including the negotiation of payment arrangements,
  • Sending customer statements to past-due customers, resolving customer inquiries.
  • Maintains accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits & collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, & miscellaneous differences are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Escalate customer billing disputes or customer issues to Senior Management
  • Exercises integrity & confidentiality in financial reporting (including federal, state, local compliance)
  • Develop & maintain good working relationships with customers via regular contact, either by telephone or email
  • Manage customer queries & investigate as required to resolve any invoice queries
  • Identify, propose, & implement process improvements
  • Performs analytical analyses for management
  • Prepares & maintains various reports as required by management
  • Supports other accounting and finance team members as necessary
  • Analyzes customer balances and trends and makes recommendations to improve Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).

Qualification
  • A minimum of 3+ years as an AR Collector in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of executive maturity and experience working with senior leadership.
  • Ability to complete work quickly, react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround & take effective & thoughtful action.
  • A “can-do” and positive attitude
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to adapt to change with ease.
  • Passion for process and organization.
  • Ability to drive targeted decrease in DSO, through structured, active communication with customers to collect outstanding aging primarily by telephone and email
  • Ability to influence without direct authority, managing details of complex projects with strong attention to quality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and SharePoint drives.
