IT BUSINESS ANALYST

NASHVILLE, TN

THE POSITION:

ICS is looking for an IT Business Analyst to join our client's growing team in Nashville, TN! You will be the liaison between the business line and technology to drive successful implementations and great customer service. You will be an advocate for the business to identify and deliver technology and business solutions. Candidates should possess technical systems knowledge and the strategic ability to think beyond a tactical level, finding the end solutions that provide greatest value to the company and clients. As a teammate, you will help to speed up and organize our development process by working with stakeholders from the very beginning of the project, understanding their vision, and translating it to all of the other people involved with the project. You'll analyze businesses, standards, and trends - and, together with the team, come up with innovative, diverse, and elegant solutions that drive value.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Understand and maintain project scope.
• Conduct business research, to include gap analysis between current and future state.
• Elicit project requirements.
• Create requirements specifications.
• Translate requirements to the team.
• Develop software artifacts, including business process flows, screen prototypes, and user stories.
• Guide other business analytics resources with the development of software artifacts including business process flows, screen prototyping, and user stories.
• Work with development and project management to build plans for implementation using agile practices.
• Create and manage requirements traceability matrix to track completion of requirements.
• Provide coaching to Junior Business Analysts.
• Create and manage product backlog using ticketing systems such as JIRA or TFS (or equivalent).
• Provide project status to appropriate stake holders for business analytics activity.
• Provide guidance to testing in the development of test scripts to ensure requirements are being fulfilled and quality of product.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or another related field.
• CBAP Certification
• Minimum 5 years Business Analyst experience in software support or software implementation projects with demonstrated ability to use common business analysis processes and tools.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and relationship development/management skills.
• Experience in clarifying objectives and dealing with ambiguity/under-defined problems.
• Experience in daily operational activities of IT/software development projects.
• Strong technical aptitude, ability, and desire to learn quickly.
• Self-motivated with the ability to take direction and work independently with little supervision.
• Passion for information technology, solutions development, and business analytics.
• Flexible and able to quickly shift mindset and change priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for and participation in hunting, recreational shooting, and/or fishing experience strongly preferred.
• Business Process Analysis
• Knowledge and experience in performing customer interviews, requirements gathering, process workflow documenting and business process analysis while reaching sound, logical conclusions regarding customer needs and business requirements. This includes the creation of user stories, business process flows (using Visio or equivalent), screen mock-ups using prototyping tools, etc.
• Project Management knowledge and experience in basic project management methods, tools, and techniques. This includes working with ticketing systems to manage software delivery (such as JIRA, TFS, etc.) and working within the Agile development model.
• Database Report knowledge and some experience in basic database theory, design rules and development practices, including data modeling, data flow and entity relationship analysis and database reporting.
