Job Details

The Process Engineer will be responsible for the development and execution of the overall production strategy for their assigned department. The incumbent will provide leadership in their area while supporting production throughput, efficiency, first pass yield, cost reduction, and safety improvements.
Responsibilities
  • Identify, lead, and execute projects that target improvements to key plant metrics: safety, quality, on-time delivery and efficiency.
  • Mentor and develop the engineering Techs' professional and technical skills.

Work closely with maintenance personnel in troubleshooting problems as needed and equipment installation and set-up.
Work cross-functionally to investigate and define root causes to issues as they arise.
Responsible for evaluating and providing recommendations for production issues discovered on the shop floor. This includes data collecting, research, facilitating, and collaborating with other team members.
Analyze and develop plans for improved work-flow, space and labor utilization.
Design equipment layout and work spaces for maximum efficiency.
Evaluate plant operation and procedures to improve productivity, improve throughput, reduce non-value added activities, improve operation efficiencies, and promote a more safe and ergonomic working environment.
Analyzes ambiguous problems utilizing demonstrated proficiency of lean tools such at Visual Shop Management, Problem Solving Flow Charts, Process Observations (time-study), and other lean/statistical tools.
Act as a leader in developing and applying new technologies.
Proficient in statistical analysis processes and understands how and when to apply them based on the situation and specific needs.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field from a 4 year college or university.
3 years experience in a manufacturing environment focused on process improvement, project management, and quality analysis in a manufacturing environment.
Experience utilizing Lean Methodologies to drive process improvements (Green Belt certification preferred).
Proficient with Smartsheets, Microsoft Office, and blueprint reading.
Keen attention to detail.
Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams in the execution and implementation of process improvement projects.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills to quickly recognize issues and opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiencies.
Demonstrated ability to coach, teach, and mentor technical and non-technical knowledge to hourly employees to drive business results.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
Knowledge of SAP is beneficial.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
