Job Description

Within the Brentwood Suites Hotel's Lobby, you will find a small bar and restaurant known as 'The 622'. An important role of the 622 Bartender and Cook is to assist with creating a memorable experience for each guest that walks through the doors. Great experiences are garnered by maintaining a well-stocked bar, as well as preparing the bar’s food items with consistent excellence.

Responsibilities of the 622 Bar Host:

Taking orders from customers.

Cooking order according to food health and safety standards.

Handling multiple food orders at one time.

Recommending ideas for specials or seasonal dishes to management.

Dressing orders for presentation.

Ensuring each guest’s order has the correct food, drinks and sides.

Setting up, cleaning, and organizing the work station.

Preparing ingredients for the shift; washing and chopping vegetables, taking an alcohol inventory, rolling serving utensils etc.

Ensuring that orders are billed correctly regarding cash payment, credit card payment, or room charge payments.

Handle guest requests personally and/or refer as appropriate.

Demonstrate hotel’s values when providing service and teamwork.

Ensure that the bar area is properly cleaned and well stocked with supplies.

Clean counters, floors, shelves and refrigerators; remove trash.

Check coolers and shelves to ensure proper stocking of beer, wine, liquor, and food items.

Stock bar with ice as needed.

Check for supplies such as sugar, salt, stir sticks, straws, napkins, etc. Requisition additional supplies as needed.

Cut fruit and garnishes when necessary.

Restock bar with clean glasses.

Storing all food properly.

Sanitizing and cleaning work stations and utensils.

Reordering stock and food supplies through management.

Requirements for The 622’s Bar Host:

Legally able to work in establishments which serve alcohol.

Attend to detail: Ensure that data is accurate, work is thorough, and to the highest standards.

Focus on the customer: Seek to understand the (internal/external) customer and meet the needs of both the customer and the hotel.

Greet each and every customer that walks through the restaurants doors.

Friendly, service-driven disposition.

Ability to work shifts, over weekends, and on public holidays, as needed.

Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

Self-motivated and self-directed.

Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks.

Develop self and others: Continually work to develop one's own capabilities and the capabilities of others.

Must be reliable and punctual.

Ability to bend, move, and lift up to 25 pounds or more.
