The United States Postal Service Vehicle Maintenance Facility in Nashville, TN is looking for motivated individuals to apply for an Automotive Technician position.
This position entails, but not limited to, the following activities:
Driving gas and diesel powered vehicles (valid state issued license a must, CDL required after hire)
Inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing various gas and diesel vehicles
Operate rollback and traditional style wreckers
Getting dirty working in inclement weather
Severe multitasking flexibility
Basic, in your head math ability
Use of diagnostic scanner and computers to find problems
Basic computer ability a plus
The activities listed above are just samples of the abilities we are looking for in a reliable, self-thinking employee that can work with little to no oversight and work well with other employees. This position also requires the employee to think ahead and see the bigger picture of our overall operation.
During your shift you will be busy repairing breakdowns roadside, performing preventive maintenance and fixing un-expected vehicle failures.
Physical requirements are:
Being able to lift items up to 70 pounds
Lifting batteries and tires of various sizes above eye level
Standing, walking and sitting for long periods
Working in hot, cold and rainy environments
