Accessioning Clerk/Data Entry Specialist (Nashville, TN)

Medix is urgently hiring for multiple Accessioning Clerks/Data Entry Specialists in the Greater Nashville area! These are 40 hour/week overnight positions with a competitive salary. A strong attendance record is required. These candidates will be performing daily accessioning activities of receiving specimens, accessioning specimens, and scanning of requisitions into scan system.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Receive and clock in specimens from couriers timely and perform checks and balances on courier deliveries.
· Prioritize and sort specimens appropriately for accessioning and processing.
· Performs data entry login of patient demographics, clinical information, specimen source, and test(s) orders from specimen requisitions into computer systems and accessions specimen containers as needed or required.
· Notate supervisor of any missing information on demographic chart.
· Answers departmental phone calls and assists clients as needed.
· Contributes to a positive work climate and to the team effort of the department and company.
· Exercise all laboratory safety precautions and adhere to lab procedures as stated in procedure manuals.
EDUCATION & LICENSURE:
· High School Diploma or GED is required
REQUIREMENTS:
· One to two years of prior job-related experience is preferred.
