Job Summary:
The Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician will take care of paperwork, including patient history and medical charts. This position will record visual acuity measurements by using a lensometry, refractometry, A-scans, HRTs, and other instruments. The Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician will provide the highest standards and professional services to our patients.
Hours: Full-time
Qualifications and experience in the following is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right individual.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs exam room setup, workup of patients for exam, and assists physician during exams;
Records accurate patient history;
Maintains the strictest patient confidentiality;
Refraction;
Contact lens evaluation;
I/R and follow-up care;
Visual Field;
Visual Acuity;
OCT;
Fundus Photography/Optomap;
Auto-refractor and Lensometer;
Topography and Tonometry;
Cleans all instruments once used;
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Prior clinical experience is preferred; Working knowledge of the eye anatomy, disease, and ocular medications; EHR skills is a plus; Retinal, LASIK, Cataract and/or oculoplastic experience is preferred.
