Job Description
Job Summary: Cashiers sell and complete point of sale transactions for guests and maintaining the balance of the cash drawer at all times. This position requires individuals with a high attention to detail, accurate cashier skills, and a strong dedication to customer service along with a positive and friendly attitude. The cashier position is vital to achieving positive customer service.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
Maintain a positive attitude and smile
Greet customers as they approach the cash register and be polite during the transaction
Assist guests with the purchase of snacks and drinks
Develop a strong knowledge of all products offered in order to answer questions and up-sell
Must have knowledge of cash registers, credit card machines, and cashier expectations in order to effectively service the customer
Must be familiar with all items and pricing to effectively complete financial transactions and answer questions from customers
Maintain an organized, neat and clean cashier station
Key holder responsibilities to ensure on time open and closure of location
Stock location and notify supervisor of any out of stocks
Count, organize, and balance the cash drawer; fill out the cashier slip; and make deposits, if applicable
Monitor theft in the location and report incidents to managers
Responsible for balancing drawer at end of shift
Responsible for ensuring location is secured, including security of all products at end of shift
Additional Job Functions:
Cross-train in other areas as required by your manager
Completion of any task requested by a supervisor or manager
Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct supervisory responsibility.
Required Qualifications:
Must be fluent in English language, both spoken and written
Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Must be willing to perform a variety of tasks as assigned
Excellent customer service and a positive attitude
Must have the ability to multitask and solve problems
Experience running a cash register, knowledge of processing a credit card reader and performing credit card transactions
Math skills for counting money and providing correct change
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in the retail industry is highly desirable
Job Type: Full-time - Approximately 40 hours per week.
Salary: $11.00 to $12.00 /hour
