The Slab Handler is responsible for hosting client appointments and pulling slab orders accurately and safely via an overhead crane. Experience with use of overhead crane and clamp truck with boom attachment is necessary. Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years experience in the stone industry. Basic knowledge of stone shop operations and fabrication is a plus. Wage is commensurate with experience. Full time with comprehensive benefit package. Certification required to operate machinery will be arranged by employer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Host slab appointments for customers.
Prepare slabs for shipment.
Unload slabs from containers using a forklift and extended boom and clamp assembly.
Arrange slabs properly by forklift/crane in Slab Warehouse
Maintain a clean and safe slab area for staff and customers.
Perform additional duties as required and or requested.
Qualification Requirements:
High School diploma
2+ years warehouse experience required.
2+ years forklift clamp truck with boom attachment and crane assembly
Ability to use Smart Phones/Tablets
Good communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must occasionally lift, pull, and move up to 50 pounds
Candidate must be able to attend training in New Jersey, if requested. Training and travel expense will be provided by Artistic Tile.
