Job Title: Network Security Specialist
Location: Remote
Duration: 6 month contract
Compensation: Highly competitive and negotiable
Key Job Responsibilities:
• Becoming an SME in Illumio host-based firewall segmentation
• Responsible for working with application managers analyzing their network traffic for host-based firewall segmentation
• Triage/remediation of various security and monitoring agents via automation and manual intervention
• Responsible for daily incident management, responding to security incidents in a production environment
• Identify and Manage special projects requiring thoughtful analysis and strategic thinking
• Ability to work with little supervision
• Collaborate with internal security and operational teams
• Be an escalation point for security agent troubleshooting
Required Qualifications:
• At least 5 years' experience in a senior operational role in network security or administration
• Experience with Illumio or micro-segmentation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• System forensics/investigation skills, including analyzing system artifacts (file system, memory, running processes, network connections, logs)
• Strong Verbal & written communication skills
• Solid foundation in data structures and algorithms, operating systems, networking concepts, and debugging skills.
• The ability to cross-functionally lead and manage the response to high priority, high visibility operational security issues
• Able to work in a 24x7x365 operations environment, as much work will be done after business hours and on weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience building large, distributed, and scalable software systems.
• 4+ years' experience with administering Windows and Unix/Linux servers
