Description
Robert Half Technology's Desktop Support Technician role is for someone with a flair for clearly breaking down and explaining convoluted technical information in a way that is easily understood by non-technical users. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in the Service industry. If you are a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for working in an innovative environment, you will thrive in this position. Located in the Smyrna, Tennessee, area, this Desktop Support Analyst role is long-term temporary in nature.
Responsibilities
- Settle computer problems, and offer suggestions on appropriate action/solutions
- Communicate regularly and effectively with ticket submitters
- Keep up, explore, and fix computer systems, hardware, printers, and computer peripherals
- Offer your support on a variety of computer hardware and software issues by identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems
- Deliver computer desktop support in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Match hardware repairs with the appropriate vendors
- Curate records of daily data communication transactions, issues and remedial actions taken or installation activities
Requirements
- Experience writing procedure manuals, user instructions, business correspondence, and general report writing
- 3+ years of desktop support or other related experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of switches
- Routers experience required
- Adeptness in MS Windows 7 in an Active Directory environment
- Practical knowledge of PC desktop/workstations
- Deep understanding of virtualization
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office 365
- General familiarity with Microsoft Windows 8
- Active Directory experience highly desired
- Microsoft Windows Server 2008 experience
