Overseeing the review of quality of care concerns with either transfers or medication safety events (when needed). Interacting with dyad partners daily (Sr Director of Transfer Services and Sr. Director Clinical Pharmacy).Looking for someone that has experience in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine (Hospitalist), or Intensivist provider, though open to others. Prefer a provider with some type of leadership experience; example Lead Hospitalist, Chief of Staff, Medical Director, Department Chair, etc. Has experience working collaboratively and leading projects with multi-disciplinary teams; nurses or pharmacists, therapists, etc. Someone with strong communication skills verbally and via email. Experience with conflict resolution and crucial conversations. Experience with interacting with C Suite members to resolve issues; Chief Medical Officer or Chief Nursing Officer. Experience with leverage data to review current performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and creating action plans to improve performance.Your Remote schedule will primarily be Monday-Friday, Part-Time 24 hour a week , Arizona business hours. Clinical Pharmacy Services is responsible for the management of the Banner formulary, development of standardized system wide clinical pharmacy services, and management of adverse drug event preventions. Clinical Pharmacy Services provides collaborative drug therapy management and educational interventions in patient care to optimize medication therapy, improve outcomes, promote wellness, and disease prevention. As a division, Banner Pharmacy services provides excellent patient care across our entire continuum through convenient access, improved medication outcomes and innovative pharmacy practices.POSITION SUMMARYThis position provides strategic leadership and works with management, staff, and other physicians to improve patient safety, error reduction, and appropriateness and quality of patient care. Intervenes with other physicians when quality, utilization, and/or behavior are problematic. Maintains effective working relationships with all parties and acts as administrative clinical liaison, interfacing with physician leaders and other leaders who are internal and external to Banner Health and program development. Builds and supports effective collegial relationships with applicable internal and external constituents and stakeholders to ensure optimal operating effectiveness. Provides education for physicians, allied health professionals and staff.CORE FUNCTIONS

Serves as the senior clinician for the URAC certified specialty pharmacy.

Provides leadership in strategy, planning, and implementation of goals and objectives. Collaborates with pharmacy management, staff, and physicians in these efforts. Seeks thoughtful input from appropriate parties and is viewed as a resource and problem solver.

Identifies opportunities for performance improvement related to patient safety, error reduction, and appropriateness and quality of patient care. Works with management, staff, and other physicians including facility leadership to develop and implement performance improvement plans and protocols. Intervenes with individual physicians when quality, utilization, and/or behavior are problematic. May assist applicable Pharmacy leadership and/or facility CMO in addressing issues.

Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and management. Acts as administrative liaison, identifying and articulating issues that impact physicians and staff. Recognizes the need for change and communicates with others to reduce resistance when implementing new processes and programs.

Performs administrative tasks. Assignments may include acting as a resource addressing strategic initiatives, specific functions in risk management and care management, and evaluation of equipment and supplies as appropriate. May assess training, quality, cost and service. Promotes standardization of products and services.

Performs other duties as defined in the agreement.

Ensures and fosters a high level of collaboration within a highly matrixed team environment to coordinate activities, review work, exchange information, and resolve problems. Champions, models, and promotes service excellence philosophies and behaviors at all levels of the organization to enhance the overall patient experience.

This position leads others in improvement of patient care in the assigned service. Participates in short- and long-term planning as needed. Internal customers include other physicians, pharmacists, hospital administration, department directors, and employees. External customers may include vendors, other physicians, and community members. The incumbent conducts himself/herself to favorably represent the hospital in a variety of activities.
