SPIG Industry is looking to fill three positions at our facility in Bristol, VA. SPIG Industry manufactures guardrail and highway safety devices. SPIG is looking to fill two(2) general labors positions and one(1) labor position.
The general labor position responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Operate machines for steel fabrication
- Help get orders ready for shipping
- Operate various saw equipment
- Stack guardrail as it is manufactured
- Grind/prep material for welding
- Operate various punch presses
A few requirements of the general labor position are:
- Be able to read a tape measure (required)
- Be able to operate a forklift (can train)
- Be able to read blueprints (some experience needed)
- Be able to stand, kneel, walk, and stoop for an 8 hour shift (required)
- Be able to lift up to 40 lbs. repetitively and 90 lbs. occasionally (required)
- Be able to show up to work on time (required)
The welder position responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Weld our SGET (SPIG Gating End Terminal) together
- Jig parts up and tack for welding
- Grind/prep material for welding
- Use square and level for some of the parts that are welded in the SGET
- Cut material on an ironworker
- Operate various saw equipment and punch presses
- Visually inspect parts for accuracy before welding product
A few requirements of the welder position are:
- Currently have a welding certificate and/or degree (required)
- Be able to operate a STICK and MIG welder (required)
- Be able to read a tape measure (required)
- Be able to read blueprints (some experience needed)
- Be able to stand, kneel, walk, and stoop for an 8 hour shift (required)
- Be able to lift up to 40 lbs. repetitively and 90 lbs. occasionally (required)
- Be able to show up to work on time (required)
