Job Description

• Analyze samples using a variety of analytical methods using gas chromatography using various detector systems, including but not limited to FID, TCD, PFPD
• Prepare air samples or adsorbent tube samples using standard techniques
• Prepare analytical standards of gases by dilution, evaporation and dilution, permeation tubes or other means
• Prepare analytical standards of liquids by dilution
• Calculate data within chromatographic data systems and manually
• Record and report data within laboratory information system
• Analyze samples using ion chromatography on occasion
• Document Non-conformance Memos (NCMs) and notify PM and supervisor
• Maintain competency on complex instrumentation including but not limited to, gas chromatographs, natural gas analyzers, refinery gas analyzers, liquid chromatographs, ion chromatographs or UV/VIS spectrophotometers
• Perform routine and advanced instrument maintenance

• Demonstrate and promote the company vision

• Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner
• Perform job functions in compliance with Eurofins TestAmerica’s EHS and QA standards
• Maintain good housekeeping in his/her work area
• Work under close supervision while training
• Ensure work area and all equipment is kept organized, neat and clean
• Familiarity with USEPA Methods, including Methods SW-8015, Method 5, Method 15, Method 16, Method 18, Method SW-0040, TO Methods
• Natural gas or refinery gas analysis experience very desirable
• Analysis of source air samples
• Familiarity with sorbent tube sampling and analysis
• Five years minimum experience in gas chromatography and chromatography data systems
• Supervisory experience desirable
• HPLC or IC experience a plus
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• MS, BS or BA in chemistry or closely related field. 5 years laboratory experience may substitute for degree.
• Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Instrumental Analysis, Physical Chemistry and Physics coursework a plus.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living in a commutable distance to West Point, PA are encouraged to apply.
