Job Description

Your New Role

Working on a Defence project, the Business Analyst will be responsible for customer engagement, process modelling and development of system requirements, as well as the elicitation of business and technical requirements and the modelling of new and existing business processes to inform ICT project delivery for a fast paced, dynamic business unit.

Tasks include:

  • Liaise with Project Managers, Solution Architect/Engineers in the scoping and estimating for new initiatives
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications in-line with proposed solutions
  • Document, analyse and revise current and proposed business processes
  • DocumentFunctional and Non-functional Requirements
  • Support the Implementation and delivery of systems, services and software as per customer specifications and agreed solution document
  • Investigate issues/errors/flaws in the current setup and identify ways to improve systems performance and efficiency by suggesting best practices in line with the organisations’ processes and system deployment standards
  • Complying with applicable standards, processes and governance
  • Liaise with development teams, other technical stakeholders and external vendors.

This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a minimum NV-1levelAustralian security clearance.

About You and What You'll Bring

Alongside your degree and work experience, the business analysis function will include:

  • User requirements / needs / enhancements.
  • Define and analyse business problems / needs / enhancements;
  • Capture and model current and planned future business processes;
  • Conduct User liaison and support for development activities including process definition, procedure creation, business rule definition and options analysis and recommendations.
  • Participate in software testing to verify User needs and business processes; and
  • Support Change Management and transition of solutions into production and operational use.

Demonstrated Knowledge Required

  • Demonstrated understanding of ICT Service Management principles and practices (ITIL)
  • Demonstrated understanding of BABOK functions and roles
  • Demonstrated understanding of SDLC principles and practices.
