Your Career

As a Palo Alto Networks Cyber Security Advisor, you will be seen as the expert for the Federal and Defence industry vertical. Your role will be that of the thought leader in terms of vision and architecture in an advisory capacity. To be able to do this role well, you will need to possess a baseline of knowledge and expertise in Cybersecurity trends, frameworks and technologies.

You will work across our entire portfolio of solutions from the core, native NGFW and SASE solutions through Endpoint, Cloud, Behavior Analytics and SaaS. The Cyber Security Advisor role is an overlay technical role that directly supports the sales delivery of quota. Our Cyber Security Advisors are measured by their expertise and by their ability to lead to successful outcomes for our customers . As the number of Cyber Security Advisors in the company is small, there is also a requirement for close interaction with Product Management to ensure that we continue to out-innovate our competition.

Your Impact

  • Brief senior-level leaders (CIO/CISO/CSO/CTO) on our architectures (not only Cloud and Endpoint products, but also architecture and design for zero trust, micro-segmentation, and other strategic initiatives)
  • Ability to function as a security advisor and subject matter expert to explain complex topics to those without a technical background
  • Ability to Align organisational security strategy and infrastructure with overall business and technology strategy
  • Propose solutions that balance business requirements with information and cybersecurity requirements
  • Able to combine technical & commercial considerations into the decision making process
  • Client focused thinking with a strong combination of technical and business relevance, ability to build big-picture vision and to perform deep dive on specific technical topics or seek adequate support.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify risks associated with business processes, operations, technology projects and information security programs
  • Work closely with Business Development on strategic initiatives being pursued beyond a 12-month time horizon
  • Dive deep in complex deployments to assist customers
  • Work with Product Management, Technical Marketing, and R&D to create requirements and product features for our large customers and provide feedback from customers
  • Provide territory coverage within the region when additional resources are required
  • Present to customers as our expert at all levels in the customer hierarchy
  • Lead conversations about industry trends and emerging changes to the security landscape that every customer needs to be aware of and plan to deal with
  • Discuss, with credibility, competitive offers in the marketplace and position Palo Alto’s capabilities & portfolio

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • Self-motivated, strong communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills, both internally and externally
  • Experience in working with CxO level
  • Experience in working with Channel partners and understanding of a channel centric go to market approach as well as with companies in the enterprise networking security space
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to analyse complex multivariate problems and use a systematic approach to gain quick resolution
  • Possess deep knowledge of Military Branches, Intelligence Community, and Federal Civilian Agencies
  • Pitching highly complex technical topics and concepts in an easy and simple to understand way to different audiences and levels.
  • Experience working with Channel partners in the Federal Government space and Defence primes.
