Job Description

The Sales Director, will be the commercial lead for Wood Mackenzie’s existing and new offerings across the territory. The successful candidate will be responsible for realising substantial revenue growth and will take the lead in driving engagement both internally and externally.

They will become a member of the APAC Sales Leadership Team and will be responsible for driving sales execution to maximise the team’s growth from new and existing accounts through the effective leadership of a frontline sales which are based out of KL, Delhi and Bangkok.

To fill this role, we are seeking an entrepreneurial and experienced Sales leader with a proven track record in driving success in either of these markets. Experience working in a multinational within the region is considered advantageous but not essential.

The successful applicant will be highly results-driven, demonstrate exemplary leadership skills, rigorous application of process and procedure, strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking in developing a sales practice to service our diverse energy and natural resources client base.

About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy to achieve corporate objectives and ambitious revenue targets
  • Lead from the front in managing and mentoring a team based in Delhi & Bangkok.
  • Work alongside & collaborate with colleagues in Research, Consulting, Operations and Finance to shape and deliver an ambitious growth plan for the territory
  • Manage/Lead relationships with defined clients, leveraging the wider Sales organisation to support the growth of our Research business within the defined territory
  • Ensure full, disciplined adoption of Salesforce and any other Sales business tools and processes as appropriate across team
  • Actively manage and motivate excellent team performance, set credible goals, monitor performance, and identify and address performance gaps
  • Identify development needs and exploit opportunities for team and individual growth
  • Manage resources and activities based upon strategic priorities and within set budgets
  • Work closely with the Wood Mackenzie Marketing and Event team to broaden our client base and maximise the opportunities arising from marketing activities and events

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced and entrepreneurial commercial leader with a proven track record of driving commercial success and value. You will be a team player that has developed strong bonds both internally and externally with key stakeholders. Inclusion, well-being and culture are key factors in determining how you approach team philosophy and strategy.

You will have;

An extensive commercial track record within Sales that includes management experience

Industry experience is preferable but not essential

Possess excellent business level English language skills. Additional languages including Bahasa or Thai would be advantageous but not essential.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively & drive innovation

Demonstrated experience of fostering a winning culture and delivering and exceeding targets

A long running commercial track record of success across multiple accounts, and geographies in developing clients and establishing a deep-rooted trusted advisor relationship

An energetic, tenacious, results-orientated approach, and are a successful negotiator

A solution sales-based mindset when it comes to understanding customer workflows and deriving value for the customer.

Demonstrated good judgment in resource utilisation and optimization and delegating when appropriate

Excellent communication skills and the clear ability to foster effective and collaborative relationships within and across teams and reporting lines

Passion for growing the business and have a genuine interest in developing yourself

An intellectual curiosity about how data and analysis solve critical business issues

Demonstrated where your analysis and insight has informed commercially impactful evidence-based decision making

Demonstrated experience of senior stakeholder management – including C level

Excellent organizational and planning and people development skills

Proficiency in CRM systems such as Salesforce for pipeline management and forecasting.
