The Materials Technician is responsible for monitoring, ordering, and maintaining consumable materials, Bio-Medical equipment and maintaining Inventory databases for the surgery center.
The Materials Technician maintains close contact with Management Team, vendors, finance department, nursing staff and surgeons to ensure adequate and suitable inventory is available to support the SurgiCenter procedural volume. Critical success factors to be observed by the technician are rotation, levels, product recalls and expiration dates on all inventories. The Technician sources on island and off island supplies, equipment and services, balances vendor selection and delivery to ensure that the center has adequate inventory to support its mission and at the same time utilizes financial resources in the most efficient manner.
