Your New Role

Leidos Australia has an opportunity to support an exciting new key Government contract, supporting Australia and it’s national interests, both locally and overseas.

As a Cyber Engineering SME you will be primarily responsible for the technical design and implements of various ICT Security products that contribute to enhancing the security posture of the ICT Environment. You will also contribute to the developing of the processes and materials required for a security operations team.

In a typical day you will:

  • Develop the designs and contribute to the build of various ICT Security services tools.
  • Contribute to the development of the ICT Enterprise Environment security control framework, operating procedures and accurately analysing risk and contributing ideas to remediation strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of various designs for various security services and develop the operational parameters by which those design will be deployed
  • Undertake security event response activities. Perform these activities without necessity for managerial coordination, in the absence of the CISO.
  • Contributes to the development of the full range of information management and IT security support tasks and workflows (e.g. audit and event log interrogation) to ensure minimum risk to Australian Government assets and information that a support organisation will require to support security services in a sustainment/business-as-usual team.
  • Participate in project relates activities and help guide the team to the successful transition of security operations of our customer’s ICT Environment.
  • NV-2security clearance or higher will be required for this role.

Qualifications

About You and What You'll Bring

  • Technical expertise in ICT Security solution development and designs. Preferably with experience in Splunk, Tenable, Cisco Networks, etc.
  • You have proven technical leadership experience having developed and or built security capabilities for Security Operations team in a complex or large scale ICT environment. Your experience in Government means you are au fait with the Australian Government Information Security Manual and corresponding assurance requirements. You are familiar with systems maintenance, enterprise architecture, certification and accreditation and ICT engineering.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and proven problem solving and organisational skills. You motivate your team to achieve outstanding outcomes and your consultative approach means that your clients value your guidance and advice. You will have excellent communication skills, together with the ability to develop, coach and mentor others to further the professional development of the team.
  • You will have a Bachelor degree or higher in IT, computer science or a related discipline and specialised training. Relevant cyber security or protective security qualifications (CISSP, CISM etc) and professional memberships are desirable.

Additional Information

Successful candidates will be required to be Australian Citizens and be able to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance. NV-2 Clearance preferred, but an NV-1 clearedcandidate with strong experience and team fit will be considered.
