This is a part-time position (20-25 hours per week)

The In-Office Phlebotomist works as a Legacy Labs LLC dba Veridia Diagnostics employee in a physicians office to collect specimen samples; collect and enter patient data into the Veridia LIS system; process and expedite delivery to the Veridia Clinical Laboratory.

Qualifications:

One year of experience in phlebotomy, specimen handling, accessioning, and sample preparation in a high-volume setting.

Current state licensure Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT), or equivalent, required.

Prior experience in a customer service setting is preferred.

Attention to detail, with a commitment to excellence and high standards.

Knowledge of general medical office concepts, practices, and procedures.

Experience with at least one Laboratory Information System.

Strong documentation skills and attention to detail are essential.

Clerical skills (e.g., computer, typing, fax, phone, copier skills).

Professional appearance and demeanor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Obtain blood specimens by performing venipuncture.

Receive secure email for clients and then print and deliver the reports.

Enter patient data from requisition into LIS system (i.e., patient name, DOB, fasting hours, and tests ordered, etc.).

Accurately label sample tubes with bar-coded labels.

Process and expedite delivery of samples to the Veridia clinical laboratory.

Adhere strictly to compliance requirements by refraining from performing services for others during Veridia work hours.

Persistently protect company information and data, especially from competitors of Veridia.

Assist laboratory personnel with resolution of various sample issues.

Manage and follow up with assigned client accounts to ensure proper supplies are on-hand.

Interact with other members of the Veridia team to exchange information and generate technical documents.

Maintain required records and documentation.

Forward any discrepancies of patient information to Client Services.
