SUMMARY: Tucker-Rose Associates is seeking an Systems Engineer (Event Management Triage Engineer) to help support a Federal Program with the US Department of Veterans Affairs in Austin, TX.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an Event Management Triage Engineer, Sr on our team supporting VA's Event Management, you have the chance to use your hardware and software skills to improve the monitoring and triage processes supporting the VA.
You'll work in the Enterprise Command Center with the incident management, problem management, and DevOps teams to detect, investigate, and diagnose system problems and defects across Enterprise level applications and technology stacks and evaluate and modernize VA Enterprise systems.
You will leverage comprehension of workflow systems and applications processes within multiple system environments.
As a technical SME, you will work with system and network administrators to troubleshoot performance issues and outages.
This is your chance to develop your skills in enterprise-level triage and incident resolution while gaining experience in VA system infrastructure.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required
10+ years of experience supporting systems engineering efforts in system design and evaluation, solution engineering, software development, or system administration
8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
7+ years of experience working with key indicators for IT system operability, application performance and code quality
7+ years of experience deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex applications at an enterprise scale while working with cross-functional teams
5+ years monitoring and troubleshooting experience with two or more of the following APM tools, AppDynamics, DynaTrace, Splunk, Aternity or SolarWinds
2+ years of experience in service virtualization, AWS or Azure Cloud technologies, and SaaS and PaaS implementation
2+ years independently leading a team to solve difficult technical challenges
Experience with using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Deep experience in one or more Technology Areas (Network, Windows, Unix/Linux, AWS or Azure Cloud, WebSphere Middleware, Java/JS Development, Microsoft or Oracle Database)
Experience with test-driven development, distributed systems, microservices and cloud-native application implementation
Experience with tools: Oracle Enterprise Manager, Riverbed – Aternity, and ServiceNow
This work may include shift support during weekends, holidays, or off-hours, as required.
