We are looking for a skilled software engineer with disciplines that incorporate

aspects of software systems engineering and operations. We are combining these

skills to come up with better ways of managing and operating databases.

What you are good at

  • Will be responsible for administration and maintenance of Aerospike NoSQL database
  • Perform database upgrades, OS patching, performance tuning and support activities
  • Create scripts to automate database maintenance and administration tasks.
  • Understand upcoming database features and provide guidance to the application teams
  • Benchmarking new features and their impact to the application availability and performance
  • Participate in database capacity planning activities for new application features.
  • Review application database design and provide critical feedback
  • Participate in 24X7 on call rotation schedule for database maintenance and production support activities
    • Identify opportunities to build innovative tools and solve unique operations problems on a large enterprise and mission critical applications
    • Act as a mentor to team members onshore and offshore
    • Define quarterly and yearly roadmap for the team and present it to the architecture, management and other stakeholders
    • Document and maintain standard operating procedures w.r.t the database


What you have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or similar area of study
  • 6+ years of enterprise, client facing, software development experience.
  • Expertise in building RESTful APIs for consumption by AngularJS. Preferred language would be Java, but .NETCore expertise would translate.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platform technologies (i.e., AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, PCF).
  • Expertise with Scrum, going through ceremonies of grooming, sizing and executing in 2 week sprints.
  • Understanding of the QA Engineer, DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering roles needed to develop high quality software and demonstrated expertise in partnering with those roles.
  • Expertise in working across development teams on planning, integrating and testing service and data integration.
  • Knowledge of all components of an enterprise technical architecture
  • Excellent understanding of application development methodologies and infrastructure and network architecture
  • Strong DevOps Experience: Development and maintenance of CI/CD Pipeline
  • Experience with No-Sql Databases, such as MongoDB
  • Excellent knowledge of Software Design Patterns and SOLID principles
  • Implements standard automation and software quality patterns based on industry best practices.
  • Experience using Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions and with PaaS concepts.
  • Proven experience using mocking frameworks and writing Unit Tests and Integration Tests
  • Ability to work with developers in an in-and-out outsourced environment
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
  • Ability to embrace modern architecture paradigms to maximize architectural agility
  • Ability to establish metrics to measure improvement
  • Proven ability to validate architectural decisions to obtain accurate feedback
  • 4+ years of experience in Financial Services Industry is preferred
