Title: Data Architect

Location: Austin, Texas

The current operations infrastructure is implemented using various technologies such as SQL Server, Couchbase, MongoDB and snowflake. The next two years will focus on evolving the technology stack. This role will focus on determining and implementing a brand-new data architecture to support our partner experience with elegant delivery and continuous evolution.

Your role:

  • The Data Architect is responsible for collaborating on product wide data strategy, creation and implementation of architectures, and operational processes.
  • Own master/metadata management, business/KPI glossary, and data lineage.
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of the data across the system. Providing day-to-day guidance to our development, data science, and analytics teams.
  • Build data governance and data related best practices for all product teams working on mobile/front-end, core business logic, 3rd party integrations, and multi-tenant web BI delivery.
  • Extensive knowledge and ability to leverage 3rd party consulting, open-source components, COTS, or cloud services to provide enhanced time-to-market for mobile/web-based BI platforms, data streaming, ETL tools, business rules engines, and optimization/recommendation engines.
  • Define the data architecture for major areas of the platform and recommend actions to maintain cost-effectiveness and competitiveness.


What you've got:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or similar.
  • 5+ years' experience in Data Architecture, cloud orchestration, automation, microservice architecture, test-driven development, and domain-driven design.
  • Expert knowledge in enterprise data architecture, MDM, data security, architecture and integration design, data system HA, geo-redun, DR, and optimization.
  • Have strong knowledge in Spark for streaming and machine learning, Kafka/Kinesis/other streaming services/platform, Hive, HBase, NoSQL.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects, with complex and challenging software requirements, and a keen sense of the solution design and architecture.
  • Fantastic verbal and written communication skills.
  • A detail-oriented, organized thought process and the ability to prioritize requirements.


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience using multiple database technologies across SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Azure Big data Technologies.
  • Very knowledgeable about various design patterns in enterprise architecture.
  • Knowledge in Scala/Java/python/R.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau.
  • Experience with ElasticSearch.
