Description:

• The Candidate will perform highly advanced software development work as part of an agile project team under the direction and guidance from Customer Relationship management.
• The Worker must have strong hands-on professional software development experience building production applications and systems in the Java programming language and proven success designing, developing, and implementing highly scalable, high throughput web services and backend systems in a large-scale Enterprise environment.
• The Candidate must be able to: Code requested changes in accordance with standards, guidelines and design documents provided by client.
• Coordinate testing, debugging, and preparing of test data, and interact with technical and non- technical staff in the coordination of changes.
• Deliver tested, production-ready software solutions that meet strict availability requirements in a large-scale enterprise environment.

Responsibilities:

• Participating in all phases of SDLC, including design, software development and code review.
• Performing extensive code reviews and analysis.
• Writing reports on code analysis to determine if industry standards and best practices are being followed; provide analysis to address found short comings.
• Providing guidance and knowledge sharing to existing development staff.
• Work with Business Customers, Section Managers, Project Managers, Business Analysts and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in a professional and collaborative manner to define strategies, implementation approaches and provide creative solutions to complex problems.
• Create well-designed, documented, and tested software solutions that meet strict availability, concurrency, and low latency requirements.
• Turn high-level requirements into a working system through iterative and incremental development.
• Identify and address product bugs, deficiencies, and performance bottlenecks in a timely manner.
• Write unit tests.
• Develop processes and procedures for Application Services.
• Stay abreast of current technologies, industry standards and best practices.
• Be productive working independently or in a team environment (both local and remote) with minimal supervision.

Experience:

• 6 years required professional experience in software development building production software systems.
• 6 years required experience developing and implementing highly scalable, high throughput web services and backend systems in a large-scale Enterprise environment.
• 6 years required experience making code changes in accordance with standards, guidelines, and design documents provided.
• 6 years required experience coordinating the testing, debugging, and preparing of test data and interacting with technical and non-technical staff in the coordination of changes.
• 6 years required experience with Java programming language.
• 5 years required experience designing and implementing secure RESTful web services.
• 5 years required experience with highly complex application security requirements.
• 5 years required experience with data integration and data quality.
• 5 years required experience with SQL (relational databases), key-value datastores, and document stores.
• 5 years required experience with code reviews and in-depth code analysis.
• 4 years required experience with Git, Bitbucket.
• 4 years required experience completing system documentation.
• 4 years required experience with IBM Enterprise COBOL for z/OS.
• 4 years required experience with IBM DB2 for z/OS.
• 4 years required experience with MVS/JCL.
• 4 years required experience with Software AG's NATURAL.
• 3 years required experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• 3 years required experience designing and building Microservices.
• 3 years required experience developing/deploying software with a CI/CD pipeline including build automation/continuous integration, test automation, and deployment automation.
• 3 years required experience with Agile teams that have iteratively and incrementally delivered software while practicing code review.
• 3 years required experience with Spring Boot.
• 2 years required experience with coaching, mentoring and knowledge transfer to junior level software developers and other personnel as required.
• 3 years Preferred experience designing and building solutions utilizing AWS technologies like EC2, Fargate, Shield, Lambda, S3.
• 1-year preferred experience with Texas Statewide systems and the CAPPS program.
• 1-year preferred experience with CICS Web Services.
• 1-year preferred experience with CONTROL-M for z/OS.
• 1-year preferred experience with Computer Associates' product Endeavor for COBOL.
• 1 year preferred public sector experience (Federal, State or Local Government).
• 1-year preferred experience with BMC's product ISPW.
• 1-year preferred experience with any of the Texas CPA Statewide Financial Systems: USAS, USPS, SPRS, TINS, HRIS.
• 1-year preferred experience with Jira.
• 1-year preferred experience with Confluence.
• 1-year preferred experience with Agile teams that have iteratively and incrementally delivered software while practicing code review.
• 1-year preferred experience with Compuware ISPW.

Skills:

• 3 years preferred proficient with the Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, TEAMS, Microsoft. Project, Word, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• 1-year preferred Knowledge of Topaz.
• 1-year preferred Knowledge of IDz, Eclipse for Mainframe.
• 1-year Preferred Knowledge of Teradata SQL Assistant.

Qualification:

• Bachelor s degree in relevant field.
