JOB SUMMARY

This job is for a seasoned data science professional who enjoys being an individual contributor, mentor, and leader as needed. This role will require a demonstrated practical ability to determine where to invest time, synthesize actionable findings across diverse assignments, and present these findings to a technical and non-technical audiences across varying levels of operations and leadership. A strong technical acumen is necessary in working with disparate data sources and applying appropriate methodologies to iteratively deliver increasingly deep and precise value.



The opportunity exists within a unique and fast-growing startup department nested inside a Fortune 100 company working to improve digital customer experience, call center behaviors, process and policy optimization, and more.



MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Provide guidance to more junior team members and support to team and departmental leadership





  • Lead advanced analytics and data science projects independently while collaborating with team members and multi-organizational stakeholders





  • Foster relationships with business team members by being proactive, displaying a thorough understanding of the business processes and by recommending innovative solutions





  • Support the team in development and/or implement various types of predictive models, natural language processing, segmentation strategies, optimization algorithms, and data mining analyses with a targeted result of increasing revenue





  • Develop roadmaps for advanced analytics projects and support decomposition into scrum artifacts such as epics, stories, and tasks; estimate size of tasks for project management


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge


  • Proven ability in data wrangling, modeling, visualization, machine learning, and project leadership

  • Proven ability to clearly communicate findings in PowerPoint or other common tools

  • Expert understanding of machine learning algorithms including, but not limited to, k-NN, GBM, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests

  • Expert skills in data analysis, modeling, machine learning via Python

  • Expert level with database languages: SQL and Hive QL

  • Advanced experience with NLP and text based extraction techniques

  • Advanced experience with at least two of the following: Snowflake, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka

  • Advanced level with version control systems: Git, BitBucket
  • Preferred experience with tooling such as Hex, Mode, Anaconda Enterprise

  • Preferred experience in Call Center Operations or the Telecommunications Industry

  • Data manipulation and statistical modeling (10+ years)

  • Python Programming (6+ years)

  • Data Product Development (6+ years)
    Mentorship of Junior Team Members (4+ years)







WORKING CONDITIONS

Hybrid environment (up to 40% WFH)

Occasional Travel (< 10%)





Top 3 Requirements:


  • Call Center experience, telecommunications a plus

  • Leadership experience

  • Expert with SQL, Hive, Hadoop
