Based in ourAustin, Texas location, you willprovide a full range of IIoT, SaaS, and PaaS solutions and technology services to empower Emerson business and bring more value to our customers. As a Cloud Software Developer, you will possess broad technical expertise, passion in architecting cloud solutions, strong interpersonal skills, and experience in related digital transformation technologies. This person will lead teams in developing cloud-native, hybrid, or multi-cloud solutions and act as a mentor or consultant, assisting, training and providing leadership to the developers. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of large-scale digital transformation solutions, continuously hone and expand your skill set, and effectively lead deep architecture discussions. An exciting variety of opportunities exist to help deliver applications in a hands-on position working collaboratively with clients, product management and technology teams. The Senior Cloud Software Developer will use critical thinking, analysis, research and business acumen to evaluate and recommend solutions for project requirements. Candidate must be willing to work in a global team environment using an Agile development process. Candidate should have good written and verbal communications skills and be familiar with (or have experience) developing software using Agile/scrum methodology.

AS SENIOR CLOUD SOFTWARE DEVELOPER, YOU WILL:

• Serve as cloud architect principal by providing technical guidance to other team members for the design, implementation and support of new cloud platform architecture and automation technologies, as well as updates and maintenance of existing cloud and automation systems


• Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for cloud, automation, and end-to-end architecture for IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions


• Enable DevOps development activities and complex development tasks that will involve working with tools such as Docker, Kafka and container management systems


• Share architecture and development best practices with developers across Plantweb platform


• Provide leadership, technical guidance and mentoring to others in areas of expertise


• Work closely with the product management teams to concept and iterate on product and use case ideas


• Build scalable solutions that integrate with other systems from demos and proofs-of-concept into marketable product offerings


• Implement production changes during defined maintenance windows, support on call rotation and serve as a point of escalation within the team for production support issues


• Analyze code performance, debug and optimize projects prior to distribution


• Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system including network protocols, API management, and mobile applications


• Help organizations understand best practices around platform integration

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related STEM field and 7+ years of relevant experience or a masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related STEM field and 6+ years of relevant experience.


• 7+ years software development experience using one or more of the following programming languages: Java, C#, JavaScript, Python


• 3+ years of experience architecting cloud solutions


• 3+ years of experience with Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform cloud services


• Advanced experience with container orchestration and scalable solutions


• 5+ years of software development experience using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET


• 3+ years of software development experience building web applications leveraging one or more of the following technologies: ASP.NET MVC, SignalR, JQuery, React, Angular, Bootstrap, HTML, or CSS


• 2+ years of experience developing RESTful APIs as the standard contract for system interaction


• Advanced experience with infrastructure as code


• Professional experience with .NET technology and Azure Cloud Service to create robust Backend services, IoT service, SaaS/PaaS, REST APIs, and web services


• Experience with developing and deploying production web- or enterprise-scale solutions


• Experience performing cost-benefit analysis on cloud solutions


• Experience implementing Web-services solutions


• Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and research, analysis and writing skills


• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum concepts and experience working in an Agile environment


• Ability to travel occasionally including internationally


• Legal authorization to work in the United States

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Experience with OAuth 2.0 protocol and Federated Identity


• Experience with Define and document high level solution and system architectures and explain how various components of the architecture will interact


• Comfortable speaking with and presenting to executives, IT managers, and developers (internal and external)


• Experience architecting and designing full stack web-based software entities


• Experience using one or more of the following database management systems: MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticsearch, SAP HANA, Azure SQL, Azure Cosmos DB


• Experience building Event Driven Architectures leveraging messaging technologies such as MSMQ, AMQP, MQTT, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, or NServiceBus


• Experience in software deployment for both on-premise and cloud installations


• Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining mobile applications


• Experience with hardware bring-up around mixed reality experiences is an added advantage


• Knowledge of Emersons Plantweb offerings and control systems
