We’re looking for a
Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead Procore’s Quality and Safety Product Engineering. In this role, you’ll be responsible for building the core Quality and Safety products that enable construction professionals to understand, predict, and correct issues during constructionbefore they become a problem. You will work closely with peers in product management and UX/Design to manage a complex roadmap of customer-facing products, features, and platform capabilities.This role will have a unique opportunity to be close to our customers and innovate solutions to unique problems that will broadly impact the construction industry. As a
Senior Software Engineering Manager, you will have ownership over our existing product portfolio and ensure it continues to meet the needs of Procore’s customers while maintaining a high-quality bar. Success in this role will require you to lead engineering implementation, including planning for future product needs and ensuring your teams and their technical architecture is enabled for future growth. This will require you to mentor Senior, Staff, and Principal level engineers as we manage, mentor, and grow other engineering managers.This position reports into the Director of Engineering for Project Management Quality and Safety, and will have an option to be based in either our Carpinteria, CA office, Austin, TX office, or be fully remote.We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.
What you’ll do:Lead an organization of diverse engineers and engineering leadership
Work across partners in Product Management, User Experience/Design, and Engineering to prioritize products and features aligned to Procore’s customer needs
Take ownership of the technical excellence within your organization and Procore’s engineering organization by holding a high bar when making decisions on technical architecture, managing tech debt, and making tradeoffs that impact product and code quality
Build and manage the backlog and execution plan for your team
Define success metrics and measure progress against those metrics
BS or Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience managing software engineering teams
2+ years of experience managing multiple software development teams and other engineering managers
You value people over process and emphasize a culture of respect
Experience building relationships with others and earningrespect by taking ownership and empowering your team and co-workers to take ownership
Prior successesbuilding high-functioning engineering teams (i.e., proficient at hiring, mentoring, and growing careers of senior engineers and engineering managers)
You have in-depth experience at all phases of the software development life cycle, from ideation to launch; success shipping multiple products
Expertise in full-stack software development, modern object-oriented languages (e.g., Java, Ruby, Typescript), and frameworks (e.g., React, Node.js, next.js, Rails)
Experience withAgile software development practices
