Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) New Iron is leading the search for a Sr. SDET to join a rapidly growing customer engagement platform company. This is a direct-hire role for a customer based in Austin, TX. Remote candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. The focus of this role is 75% SDET work and 25% Leadership. This is a great opportunity for an individual to take the lead on applying new testing techniques that will improve the speed and quality of key deliverables. The ideal candidate has strong Java development with Selenium or similar testing experience in a TDD environment. The ideal candidate will also be a thought leader and influencer capable of impacting a rapidly growing product organization. Priority will be given to candidates with experience in Agile development environments who strive to constantly improve software quality. Be the organization’s technical quality expert
Assist in the design and development of highly maintainable unit, integration and performance tests
Focus on test automation for an event-driven application that consumes big data streams
Develop and improve the existing test framework using modern toolsets
Provide mentorship to junior engineers on QA standards
Report quality metrics
Collaborating with tech leadership across engineering teams
Work closely with team members to foster an environment of Agile processes
Should Have:
8+ years of QA automation experience in TDD environment
Experience with testing using tools like, Selenium, JUnit
Experience contributing to automation frameworks using object oriented languages such Java, Python etc.
Experience with infrastructure maintenance and debugging skills
Ability to lead process and technology change
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
Knowledge of agile principles and work-model
Nice to Have:
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related experience
Experience with continuous integration tools ( e.g Jenkins )
Experience with any of the following: AWS- Kinesis,EC2,SQS,DynamoDB, ES6, HTML,CSS, Javascript, or React
