Our Opportunity:
The Senior Staff DBA will work together with business analysts, developers, Linux, storage and network engineers to ensure optimal solution, availability, performance and support of Database platforms and Data integration solutions amongst disparate systems. This role will act as a hands-on subject matter expert for PostgreSQLwithin the team.
What youll do:
The Senior Staff DBA role is responsible for designing and supporting standardized, enterprise-class IT solutions. This individual will be responsible for facilitating, supporting and designing the evolution of infrastructure (principally PostgreSQL in coordination with Linux, storage and network). Additional duties may include consulting with application architects on all strategic deployments, generating architectural design documents, presenting design concepts and solutions to internal customers. Ability to identify process improvements as well as reduce complexity and systemic availability issues is a must.
Candidate must have 6+ years experience in designing, deploying and supporting high availability PostgreSQL solutions on the Linux platform. Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills are a requirement. Additional Job Details:The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of hands on database administration experience. This person will join a team of experienced DBAs working in a fast-paced enterprise environment solving complex problems. QUALIFICATIONS 10 yeas working experience with PostgreSQL 6 years experience as database administrator working as a senior level DBA. 2 years experience leading teams of DBAs to achieve corporate objectives. Experience with Google Cloud Platform and AWS cloud technologies Proven ability to implement PostgreSQL database both on-premise and in public cloud. Self-motivated and collaborative with other teams is required. Detail oriented and organized with an ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work under pressure and in a constantly changing environment. Experience creating and maintaining scripts using Terraform or Python Report to senior leadership, application stakeholders and other team members to meet project milestones.
