Monument Cafe in Georgetown, TX, is seeking an experienced, dedicated Line/Prep Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing high-quality meals while ensuring compliance with all food safety standards. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment and have a strong interest in the food industry. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in meal preparation, menu planning, and maintaining kitchen organization.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in meal preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and practices to ensure the health and safety of all staff and customers.
- Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during meal service.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the head chef or kitchen manager.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- A passion for cooking and a willingness to learn new culinary skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends.
