We are seeking an Optometric Technician to join our team. Were a locally owned and family operated practice serving the great community of Austin, TX.

The Optometric Technician is responsible for preparing patients for eye exams. They also schedule appointments, document case histories, update patient records, and organize records. Additionally, this position will administer tests to patients for near and farsightedness, field of view, and other related testing.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

- Assist with preparing patients before an examination by gathering medical history information.

- Administers pretesting to determine the visual capabilities of a patient.

- Processes contact lens orders.

- Teaches contact lens wearers on how to apply, remove, clean, and care for lenses.

- Manages inventory of contact lenses.

- Provides office support by answering incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and checking patients in for their appointments.

- Coordinate patient referrals to other care providers as needed and helps maintain a follow-up system to those referred.

- Maintains the office in clean, professional. and orderly fashion.

- Participates in continuous quality improvement projects.

- Maintains good communication with co-workers and maintains a positive work environment.

- Ensures strict confidentiality of patient records.

- Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.

- Cross training in other job duties to help provide assistance during busy times or staff absences.

Job Location: This position is located in North Central Austin. Job hours are Monday through Friday 9:30am to 6:30pm (occasionally Saturday from 9:30am to 4:30pm)
