North Austin screen printing and embroidery shop is seeking people with industry experience.
We have openings in the following positions.
Automatic screen-printing press operator (printer):
o Obtain orders (screens and garments) from the staging area.
o Line up screens in correct printing order on press.
o Pick proper squeegee for ink color, fabric, and printing technique
o Test print design and get approved to start production
o Once approved, print order continuing to monitor quality
Automatic press printer’s assistant:
o Mix inks indicated on the work order and place in appropriate screens.
o Monitor print quality throughout the production run
o After order is complete, clean leftover ink from the screen and place back in ink container.
o Remove and clean squeegees and flood bars from the press
o Take screens off the press, remove tape, and place in the used screen area
Belt catcher:
o Check printed shirts for defects
o Count and stack shirts as they come off a conveyer dyer
o Verify and record counts of printed shirts against work orders
o Box shirts and prepare for shipping
Apparel Receiving person:
o Verify the count of blank apparel against packing slips and purchase orders
o Note any discrepancies of blanks in the verification process
o Assign and record the location of stock which has been received
o Using a work order, stage garments for screen-printing and embroidery production
Embroidery operator
o Quickly thread embroidery machines
o Properly hoop garments and other products for accurate embroidery placement
o Select proper backing, needle type, needle size, and thread tension
o Run production and troubleshoot small problems
o Trim, fold, and box garments
o Verify counts and fill out the appropriate paperwork
This is a team environment with the common goal of producing quality decorated apparel in an efficient manner. Employees must be detailed oriented, able to follow directions and focused on the task at hand.
