Community Manager (full-time)
The Commune is a new co-working community for artists and creatives opening in Austinâs North Loop neighborhood this March. Bridging the gap between artist studios and the traditional co-working space, we aim to build a strong professional foundation for Austinâs creatives through community, industry resources and networking.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Community Manager will work closely with the owner in the weeks leading up to our opening and beyond to establish operational, communications and procurement systems. This person needs to be highly self-motivated, a skilled multi-tasker, and capable of setting and achieving short and long term goals. They will have the unique opportunity to help define their role from the ground up, and therefore must be very well organized and possess strong leadership skills. At least 50% of this job is sales, and sales experience is a must unless you are able to successfully demonstrate that you will be very good at this.
Responsibilities include:
â Point of contact for all members and community
â Opening and closing the space
â Marketing and community outreach
â Touring and signing prospective members
â Working to identify membersâ needs, retain existing members and keep occupancy at 100%
â Facilities quality control and basic upkeep
â Event sales
â Managing vendor relationships; ordering
â Working closely with owner to define company strategy, goals and sales projections
Required skills:
â 4+ years experience in sales, customer service, hospitality, co-working, and/or business operations
â Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented
â Excellent communicator with strong written and spoken grammar
â Warm, people-focused personality
â Enjoy being challenged
â Resourceful with strong problem solving skills
â Flexible and willing to jump from high-level challenges to menial, daily tasks with the same strong work ethic
â Passion and appreciation for the creative arts
Required Education: 4 year Bachelorâs Degree or higher
Bonus Points if you have:
â Existing relationships with local media, influencers, similar industry
â Basic graphic design knowledge and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
Compensation:
Base salary of $45k plus 10% commission on all event sales with opportunity to gross $60k+ per year. Guaranteed monthly salary of $4250 for first 6 months while event sales are established. Paid vacation and sick days. Off on all major holidays.
