To transport materials to customer shops and job sites by applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations. The Driver will be responsible for verifying loads to shipping papers, loading the truck, driving to and from designated locations, unloading material and maintaining proper documentation according to state and federal regulations. In addition, all Drivers will assist in the warehouse performing shipping, stocking and receiving of materials.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Service

o Assist all customers in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner

o Verify all loads to ensure full and accurate customer deliveries

o Deliver material to customer sites in a safe and timely manner, including unloading of material at the designated location

o Engage with customers at delivery location to ensure satisfaction with order fulfillment and material quality Address customer issues independently or in conjunction with branch associates as required

Operations

o Load deliveries onto truck independently or in conjunction with warehouse associates

o Pull and prepare orders, including staging for shipment. Assure product is properly stacked, organized, and secured on pallets

o Receive, verify, stage and stock/inventory all incoming material

o Assist with product returns, including product inspection, restock/re-inventory, disposal, etc.

o Maintain inventory control by collecting stock location orders, printing request, recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed through a computer. May also assist in counting of physical inventory per company and branch procedures

o Prepare packages for shipment via UPS/FedEx

o Successfully complete all assigned training within given timeframe

Safety

o Safely utilize PIT (power industrial trucks) equipment (Forklift, Order Picker, Reach Truck etc.) to pull and move product onto trucks and throughout the warehouse. May be required to use RF scanner depending on branch operating system

o Ensure security of load before and throughout delivery

o Conduct pre and post-delivery vehicle inspections and report any concerns to branch management

o Understand and abide by all DOT regulations and standards (if applicable)

o Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping trucks, shelves, pallet area, and work stations neat; sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times

Perform other duties as assigned

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

High School Diploma or equivalent is required

Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a delivery driver supporting a warehouse environment is required; warehouse experience including order picking, shipping and receiving and cycle counting is highly desired

Must have a minimum Class C license, with a clean driving record; CDL may be required

Must have previous experience using PIT equipment; current forklift certification is an asset

Knowledge of DOT regulations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

Must present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors

Must have proficient computer skills; previous experience with an ERP system (i.e. Eclipse, Mincron) is an asset

Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced and ever-changing industry

Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills required

Must be able to work positively within a team environment

Must be able to learn quickly and have a desire to succeed

Must have strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify solutions with minimal assistance

Regular, timely attendance is required to meet customer needs in an efficient and effective manner
