Job Description

This position involves the design and development of custom software solutions (mobile and / or desktop applications, web services, APIs, etc.

to meet customer requirements of the Computing and Information Technology Division (CITD). Specific technical activities include evaluating project requirements to determine the best solution for a problem, designing, implementing, testing, and debugging applications in various programming languages, developing associated software documentation, perform software support and maintenance as needed, and other related duties as assigned.

Candidates must be able to work independently as well as part of a team, and write clean, elegant code that maximizes functionality and efficiency.

Those who are self-motivated, curious, adaptive, and exercise independent thought and judgment are the primary candidates for this opportunity.

Candidates should have a desire to stay abreast of changes in technology as it relates to their work, and must be able to evaluate and identify new technologies to support projects.

Candidates should be able to interface with customers to define product requirements and provide technology support as needed.

Candidates must be able to obtain a national security clearance. Responsibilities : Design, develop, test, support, and document software written in various programming languages.

60%) Research and integrate various hardware and software components, client-server software architectures, and other 3rd party products with our internally developed solutions.

The individual will integrate all of these varying elements into a single seamless product. (20%) Interface with customers to determine software requirements and support the software throughout its lifecycle.

10%) Other duties as assigned. (10%) Required Education : Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education : Master of Science degree in Computer Science (or related field), or an accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science (or related field).

Required Experience : Three years of related experience. Preferred Experience / Knowledge : Object-oriented programming (C, Java, Objective-C, Swift, etc.

Web development (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, AJAX, jQuery, Node.js, Angular.js, React, Symfony, Backbone, etc.) Web service development / interfacing (REST, SOAP, WSDL, etc.

Third-party software framework integration (Eclipse RCP / RAP, Apache Hadoop, Kubernetes, commercial cloud computing services, etc.

Database design (SQL, NoSQL, etc.) Software development process tools (Jira, Jenkins, etc.) All positions are security-sensitive.
