The Network Engineer position work closely with the network team to efficiently manage the Network Infrastructure for Synergy Fiber.

Responsibilities:

Assist with the design, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Synergy Fibers customer networks and support the network infrastructure

Analysis, design, testing, documentation, implementation/configuration and support of WAN/LAN/MAN and converged network technologies

Prepare, Configure, and Manage routers and switches for deployment to a local or to a remote site

Research and recommend network optimization

Perform network equipment software and configuration upgrades

Perform network architecture reviews and develop detailed engineering design and deployment plans.

Understand network/systems, maps, diagrams, tables, charts, and other documents for administrative strategic and tactical reference

Interface directly with other groups to provide detailed system design and capabilities information, report project progress via formal and informal channels

Troubleshoot and test switches and loading configurations

Responsible for providing the sales team with the necessary technical expertise to enable them to sell the product and putting job cost sheets together.

Responsible for reviewing product data to ensure that the field force is kept up to date on new developments regarding the companies or competitors products

Perform duties of global service desk

Answer incoming client calls as necessary and try to resolve tier 2 and tier 3 escalated ticket when able to, exercise excellent customer service while creating tickets in accordance with each clients specific needs

Support on-call over weekends and after work hours on a rotational basis

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications:

2-5 years related industry experience

Located in College Station TX

CCNA Preferred/ CCNP or CCIE Desired

Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering and related field of study or higher

3 years LAN based routing and switching in a multi-vendor environment

Availability to travel
