OVERVIEW: Strong IT Project Manager needed for direct hire role. This will be mostly remote with only 1-2 days onsite in Commerce, TX or Dallas, TX (manager can be flexible). RESPONSIBILITIES:
Host and drive client meetings and assist with determination of project requirements
Oversee the project intake process and provide status updates to project requestor
Assist the PM in the drafting and issuance of project proposals, RFP’s, budgets, preliminary schedule, and other project documentation
Hold team members accountable to ensure project task are delivered on-time
Contribute to creating and maintaining project documentation
Measure project performance to identify areas for continual improvement
Conduct quality assurance testing on new and enhanced products
Facilitate meetings and distribute minutes to all project team members
Use project scheduling and control tools to monitor projects plans, work hours, budgets and expenditures
Track all issues, risks, and create mediation plan to resolve.
Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the client and project team
Ensure clients’ needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner
Follow up on project tasks
Assist the project team in the vendor evaluation process by evaluating the product/service functionality, quotes, company references, etc.
Track & manage contemplated change requests in the change log
Prepare scheduled management reports
Create and maintain departmental process, policies and procedures documentation
Report to the Sr. Project Manager (PMO) and others about project status and issues that may impact client relations
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree MIS, Business, or Project Management Certification - REQUIRED
6-8 years of experience develop a project management plan to track progress
6-8 years of experiencing hosting technical team meeting and document meeting minutes with action items
6-8 years of experience of defining the overall scope of the project and identify tasks
Create and update project documentation (R&R, Risk, Issues, Mediation)
Proficient in MS Project, and MS Office Suite of products
Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills
Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment
Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
Must currently reside in or near the Commerce, TX or Dallas, TX area
Eligible to work for any U.S. employer without requiring sponsorship
PREFERRED/NICE TO HAVES:
CAPM, Scrum, PMP certification
Knowledge of Higher Education or Government industry
