Being a member of the IT Business Unit, Mainframe Software Engineer will be responsible for Develop, maintain, continuously improve and support CICS infrastructure within the ownership of the Transactional Technologies systems. Provide experienced infrastructure oversight, ensuring successful delivery and performance of IT services for our clients and the fulfilment of our obligations and Service Levels Targets.

Your Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Installation, Customization, and administration of CICS/Transaction Server on IBM Mainframe
  • Installation, customization, and administration of Abendaid, TMON, CICS Transaction Gateway, CICSPLEX, CAFC, INTERTEST and WTX on IBM Mainframe.
  • Learn and master critical proprietary business systems built on CICS
  • Maintain CICS environments in compliance with the security guidelines.
  • Assist with testing, implementation, and installation of CICS and associated software.
  • Diagnose and resolve CICS environment system abends and abnormal operating problems using system logs, and other available logs and documents.
  • Build, define, modify, and understand CICS parameters, CICS RDO definitions, CICS PLT Tables.
  • Develop/Maintain/Improve in-house programs and utilities in COBOL, REXX and Assembler
  • Have an understanding and experience of IBM SMP/E environment and ability to use SMP/E to install software
  • Ensure stability of the above-mentioned products in support of many critical business applications
  • Ability to deliver multiple concurrent agile projects/tasks on time and a focus on quality
  • Participate in weekend DR tests
  • Participate in an on-call rotation
  • Follow a detailed ITIL-based process

Talents Needed for Success:
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience
  • 6+ years in a z/OS Environment with at least 4 years in CICS Administrator/Developer Role
  • Experience in CTG, Abendaid, TMON, CICSPLEX, CAFC or similar tools
  • Proven understanding of basic z/OS system programming internals such as JCLs, JOBs, PROCs, SCHEDULE, RACF, JES2, Virtual Memory
  • Detailed Understanding of CICS Internals, CICS Tables, CICS Resources, CICS Datasets, CICS-RACF interface

Additional Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
