Description:

Valero is on the search for energetic and motivated students to join the Valero Intern Program. The internship program has openings for Electrical Engineering Interns who are ready for new and exciting challenges in a fast-paced environment.

Major Accountabilities:

Develops area classification drawings for the various process units.

Corrects and updates electrical single line drawings.

Supports the Electrical Engineering staff in developing electrical safety standards.

Corrects and updates electrical maintenance records.

Becomes familiar with the refinery electrical power distribution system.

Troubleshoots and maintains distributed control systems database, and software configuration (ex. Utilizing Honeywell, Foxboro).

Monitors and identifies malfunctioning field instruments impacting control loop performance.

Develops, tunes and implements process control schemes and control techniques.

Performs routine software maintenance of Foxboro I/A/Honeywell DCS systems.

Develops and reviews control logic on PLCs.

Maintains, develops, and optimizes advanced process control programs.

Projects usually include one or more of the following: equipment design, preparation of specifications, equipment integrity evaluations, research investigations, report preparation, and other activities of limited scope requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in the specific area of assignments.

This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.Positions may be available at any of the following locations:

Norco, LA - St. Charles Refinery

Ardmore, OK - Ardmore Refinery

Corpus Christi, TX - Bill Greehey Refinery

Houston, TX – Houston Refinery

Texas City, TX – Texas City Refinery

Port Arthur, TX - Port Arthur Refinery

San Antonio, TX – Valero Headquarters

Sunray, TX - McKee Refinery

Three Rivers, TX - Three Rivers RefineryQualifications:

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering required.

Overall GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale (or higher) preferred.

Obtained at least 60 credit hours by the start of summer internship required.

Graduation dates of August 2020 through May 2022 required.

Ability to work 40 hours per week required.Please include the following in your resume:
