The Azure Cloud Engineering Architect will be the principle engineering resource for a highly visible critical project for Taos. This is a technically hands-on role requiring strong cross-group collaboration.

Location: DFW Metro area is preferred

Required skills

10 years of increasing engineering experience with progression into architecture leadership in Infrastructure and Cloud

5 years as a lead architect with deep hands-on experience in architecting and building cloud platform infrastructure (PaaS).

5 years hands-on infrastructure experience with the following: Resource Groups, IAM/Policies, Tags, Certificates, Express Route, Cosmos DB, Postgre SQL, SQL, AAD, ADO, Service Bus, Redis cache, Storage, Log Analytics, Service Principals, Log Stream, Key Management and blue/green deployment models from an infrastructure perspective.

Familiarity with AppDynamics, Jira/Confluence, Solarwinds and firewalls

Readiness to present or discuss Azure Best Practices and architecture frameworks/patterns to audiences without having to first research

Hands-on experience with Azure Spring Cloud as the primary Azure resource on a critical path project

Hands-on experience troubleshooting net-new cloud infrastructure

Scripting and automation proficiency (Powershell, python, etc.)

Must have the ability to define your own work and prioritize it within the program management structure

Must be able to take minimal direction and produce positive results

Must be able to effectively manage challenging technical issues with project priorities

Growth, challenge the status quo mindset

Presentation skills and ability to present technical details to non-technical people

Ability to mentor and show the way to more junior team members

Ability to be flexible with working hours to suit project needs; we have team members around the world

Desired Skills

Bachelor of Computer Science or other engineering centric degree (electrical or mechanical engineering)

Current Microsoft Azure certifications preferred

Experience working for a datacenter operator, or other industrial space (e.g. manufacturing)
