Network / Systems Administrator

Location: Dallas, TX

Type: Contract to Hire, 3-6 months

We are looking for a Network / Systems Administrator or support technician who is passionate about technology, enjoys working on a collaborative team. If you have experience working networking technologies, please send us your resume.

The Network Engineer will be responsible for supporting all data and voice communications. And will play an integral role in implementing security best practices.
Looking for an IT Generalist " Jack of All Trades"

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Configuring and Integrating networks and systems at recently acquired properties
  • Installs, tests, troubleshoots, and maintains hardware and software products including Cisco routers, Meraki switches, Fortinet firewalls
  • Manages and support wireless network
  • Work with SOC for resolution of Intrusion Detection and Threat Vulnerabilities
  • Develops and maintains systems documentation
  • Network monitoring and performance tuning
  • Windows system administration and monitoring
  • Implements and maintains VoIP\Phone Systems\SIP Trunks
  • Problem resolution, including ownership through resolution of identified problems
  • Coordinates hardware and software updates from vendors
  • Assists other System Administrators and Service Desk staff as required
  • AD administration
  • Backup management and maintenance
  • VMware management
  • SAN (iSCSI\Fiber Channel) management

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Strong Configuration & Integration skill set
  • Strong knowledge of firewalls and network security (conceptual knowledge OK)
  • Systems configuration and deployment
  • Systems design and specifications
  • Problem management and resolution
  • Use of appropriate tools/utilities
  • Linux experience a plus
  • Experience with GPOs, WSUS, DHCP, DNS, multiple domains in AD forest preferred
  • Written and oral communications
  • Able to work independently and with a team
  • Light to moderate travel
  • SOC-1\ISO 27001 compliance experience
  • Knowledge of trouble shooting and management tools

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • Training in Windows operating systems and TCP/IP communications.
  • Cisco, Microsoft, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Exposure to following: Cisco\Fortinet Switches, Routers and Firewalls.
  • TCP/IP communications and troubleshooting
  • Remote Access VPN
  • CCNA nice to have
  • Network Sniffer
