Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas is currently seeking to hire a full time Research Registered Nurse for our Exercise Physiology, Cerebrovascular Lab, specifically Alzheimer’s Disease prevention study.The address is: 7232 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75231Salary Rate: $35.00 per hour – grant funded.Work Schedule : Full Time. 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday 7:30AM-4:30PMThe focus of the Cerebrovascular Laboratory is to study brain aging and neuroplasticity in response to lifestyle modifications, with the ultimate goal to improve brain health and quality-of-life in older adults, specifically:To understand the interrelationship between cardiovascular and brain healthTo examine the effects of aging and lifestyle modifications on brain structure, function, and perfusion in middle-aged and older adultsTo study dynamic regulation of cerebral blood flow and cerebrovascular function under physiological and pathophysiological conditionsResearch Coordination Assists investigators in planning, development, and implementation of research protocols Interviews, evaluates, and schedules prospective subjects who may become participants in research protocols according to criteria Provides new subjects with an overview of follow-up visits and the purpose of the study Responsible for data acquisition as well as analysis and management of specific protocols as determined by the principal investigator Assists in coordinating the development and operation of the Clinical Research Center, when indicatedPatient/Subject Comfort and Safety Obtains informed consent Responds to emergency situations effectively Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness codes Recognizes safety hazards and acts to protect patients Evaluates patient and research subject’s understanding of tests and procedures and educates appropriately Functions as an active member of the medical emergency team Consistently uses two identifiers when providing treatments Follows fall protocol(s), implements safety measures, and completes all documentation Assures equipment alarms are activated and audible; operates equipment in a safe mannerQuality Collaborates with the nursing staff of the Neuromuscular Center, the Exercise Physiology Center, and the Hyperbaric Medicine Unit to develop IEEM specific nursing policies and proceduresClinical Performs clinically indicated procedures on patients and research subjects in accordance with skills Prepares patients’ charts and assists with the physical examinations Coordinates scheduling of patient’s visits by letter or telephone Coordinates various medical and paramedical consultations Organizes data from clinical studies, including performing specific analysis as required by physician and assists physician in preparing clinical reportsQualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:Associates Degree Required in Nursing.
