Senior Data Engineer
Location: Plano, TX
Duration: 6 months with possible contract to hire
Description:
Hands on Data Engineer role
As a Data Engineer, you'll be part of a dynamic team thats building and enhancing a Loss Forecasting platform with Client based models for Auto Finance on AWS cloud infrastructure.
You will participate in requirement gathering, technical design, development and implementation of applications used by our data scientists and business analysts to build and launch models, analyze data, and make loss forecasting decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop & deploy Python based solutions & microservices with appropriate coding standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists and implement new Client based models onto the existing platform.
- Acquire business domain knowledge & Collaborate with vendors, architects, developers, product owners, stakeholders, and customers across multiple teams to deliver cloud solutions for complex customer problems
- Analyze data for data discrepancies reported by Analysts and troubleshoot application issues.
Technical Skillset Required:
- Languages : Python
- Frameworks/Libraries: Flask, Spark, PySpark, other Python based libs (Pandas).
- Tools : Jupyter Notebook, Splunk
- CI/CD Tools: Jenkins
- Containers: Docker, Kubernetes
- AWS Services - S3, EC2, ECS, EMR, Lambdas,
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of experience in developing code with Python & supporting libs.
- 2+ years of experience in developing and implementing software applications on AWS.
- 5+ years' experience with Relational Database Systems and SQL (PostgreSQL or Snowflake)
- Basic understanding of machine learning algorithms - Linear or Logistic regression
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills
Top Skills:
Python exp is a must
Flask APIs & Pyspark
Jupiter Notebook / Splunk exp is required
Nice to have:
Apache Airflow, Web Technologies: Angular, Typescript, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap
