RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a Dallas, TX client looking for a Staff Engineer to provide hands-on technical guidance for end-to-end Business Intelligence solutions, from data ingestion to data publishing. Open to candidates residing in: AZ, CA, Colorado (Denver only), CT, FL, GA, HI, IL, MA, MI, NV, NJ, NY, NC, SD, TX, WA, Washington D.C, and WY. Applicants must be fully authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Responsibilities of the Staff Engineer:
Provide leadership to the business and technology organization to influence improved agility and deeper understanding of the Business Intelligence capabilities
Develop a deep understanding of the business domain and enterprise data assets to craft a BI solutions roadmap that achieves business enablement
Lead, collaborate and communicate with stakeholders including product, architecture, development, and executive teams
Make recommendations toward a practical enterprise-wide BI, reporting, and self-service analytics roadmap and architecture
Provide BI technical and solutioning guidance to projects and teams, ensuring that new initiatives enable effective data reporting and meet business requirements
Work with Data Architect to ensure that logical and physical data models support the analytic needs of the business
Perform hands-on design and development
Keep abreast of the latest technologies and trends in Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing and Analytics for the retail industry
Deliver solutions in a very fast paced and multi-faceted, agile environment
Initiate proof of concepts (POCs) and prototypes to demonstrate recommendations and to test theories
REQUIREMENTS:
BS/MS in CS/Data Engineering or related fields
7+ years' experience with large-scale, enterprise data sets
5+ years extensive use of reporting and analytic tools
3+ years data modeling
A minimum of 2 years of this time should have been in support and delivery of self-service reporting/analytics solutions
History of delivering end to end Business Intelligence solutions, with an emphasis on self-service solutions to a variety of user communities and skill levels
Must have demonstrable experience providing end to end technical solutions within a large Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing environment
Experience working with end users to gather requirements and build technical solutions from concept to implementation
Position requires a self-starter, capable of quickly turning around vaguely defined projects with minimal supervision or assistance
Must have working knowledge of various data modeling techniques-3NF, de-normalized, STAR Schema
Must be an expert with UNIX/LINUX shell scripting and Python development
Must be an expert with SQL creation, troubleshooting and tuning
Must be an expert in performance tuning/streamlining data delivery within the self-service information delivery pipeline from acquisition to presentation
In-depth, hands-on experience using structured and unstructured data as well as key data technologies, including AWS, Snowflake, EMR, Airflow, etc.
Experience with some flavor of data visualization-Tableau preferred
Experience with an enterprise reporting solution: SAP Business Objects a plus
Ability to conduct analysis of source data sets to achieve target data set objectives
