SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Associate Litigation Attorneys are responsible for legal oversight of all aspects of the firm’s litigation practice. The responsibilities of the qualified candidate will include, but are not limited to, handling defensive litigated matters on behalf of clients, deceased borrower matters, as well as firm defense matters.
Description of Duties:
Oversee and supervise all legal aspects of the firm’s litigation practice
Provide guidance to operational staff regarding the implementation of procedural changes, and approve such changes as necessary
Ensure the firm’s litigation practice is compliant with state, federal, regulatory, and client-directed legal requirements
Monitor for state, federal, and regulatory changes, and recommend process modifications as appropriate
Experience and Skills:
A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and a license to practice law in the state of Texas is required
Admission to practice before all four Texas federal districts
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional organizational skills
Proficiency in legal research applications such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, or other related systems
0-1 year of experience. Entry Level Associate opportunity
Jurisdiction-specific experience in handling contested default matters and banking litigation preferred
Work Schedule: The work week is typically Monday through Friday, with business hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm.
