The Challenge
As the Senior Designer, you will head Design and Product Development of the company. You will develop, design, and execute full line of women's apparel on a season by season basis.
Key Responsibilities Include
⢠Direct current trend and design strategy for a full line of women's apparel.
⢠Competitive shop and research marketplace
⢠Develop key trends and seasonal theme direction for silhouette and
⢠Develop and manage creative design and execution of Company product within the guidelines of the brand identity
⢠Research current bestsellers and trends to develop appropriate style, design, and brand evolution
⢠Prepare and present thumbnail concepts and line drawings for silhouette review and selection
⢠Offer product color recommendations during line coloring process
⢠Create first proto sample tech packs and dimension specs to facilitate sampling
⢠Manage the fabric sourcing and selection process by travelling to markets abroad
⢠Communicate with factories on a daily basis on all design details
⢠Evaluate all first proto samples for adoption
⢠Evaluate all adopted styles for aesthetic, fit, construction, and quality
⢠Evaluate photo samples for accuracy and execution
⢠Oversee concept board and divisional CAD development process for line review presentation
Qualifications
⢠College Degree - BS/BA in Apparel/Fashion Design
⢠5+ years of design related experience
⢠Strong artistic background
⢠Hands on design experience- flat and illustrator sketching a must
⢠Strong organizational skills - proficiency in Microsoft applications
⢠CAD proficiency - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and/or CAD software a must
⢠Ability to travel abroad
⢠Direct to consumer experience a plus
⢠Portfolio is a must
