The IT Integrator- Network is responsible for functional requirements definition, implementation and maintenance of IT Controls Systems network. This individual will interface with various stakeholders and partners to define, prioritize and execute networking enhancements, projects and maintenance requests. The IT Integrator- Network is responsible for ensuring that adequate clarification and support on all business and functional requirements related to the network insuring compliance with all regulatory regulations.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

-Directly or through others, the incumbent will:
  • Responsible for providing oversight of the monitoring, performance, and new projects related to the connectivity of network systems to ensure the optimal, stable performance of both existing and new assets. Provide technical expertise and SME knowledge about the current state of data networks.
  • Responsible for the development, configuration, maintenance, support and optimization of new and existing network hardware, software, and communication links.
  • Responsible for managing and providing technical oversight for various enterprise network and telecommunications projects within the Integration Group.
  • Ensure adherence to the change and incident management processes when implementing changes to the network and communications infrastructure.
  • Manage the process of developing and maintaining network deployment schedules, procedures, MOPs, network design documentation, equipment and inventory trackers, data center equipment location and specification documentation, etc.
  • Develop and approve functional specifications and detailed design documents for various network and telecommunications projects; this includes network topology drawings and diagrams, circuit and port assignments, and any documentation required for new network equipment purchases and deployments or maintenance of existing equipment.
  • Provide guidance and leadership in the short and long term strategic plans to make certain network capacity and data communications meet existing and future requirements.
  • Continually seek network and communications improvements for the benefit of the Company and its business objectives.
  • Work with project managers to help plan the deployment of new network and telecommunications equipment by coordinating with business partners and service providers; this includes the facilitation of testing and troubleshooting when deploying new equipment.
  • Provide root cause analysis on a variety of system performance issues and solutions.
  • Interact with senior management, service provider personnel, and key vendors during network and communications incidents as well as security events to keep all parties informed.
  • Ensure system and procedure documentation for network infrastructure is accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor network performance using various monitoring reports and other documentation provided by communications vendors and service providers to ensure efficient and reliable operation of networks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned when required
The Control Systems Integrator is responsible for overseeing requirements definition, implementation and maintaining of IT Control Systems. This individual will coordinate with various IT and OT groups, outsourced service providers and Oncor business partners to define, architect, prioritize and execute application enhancements, projects and operational functions/requests. This will require that the incumbent has knowledge of all protected processes and procedures as well as the technology tools that are used to support operations. The Control Systems Integrator is responsible for ensuring adequate clarification and support on all business and functional requirements related to the control system applications insuring that Oncor is aware and compliant with all NERC-CIP regulations.

Job Attributes
Education Two year technical degree or eight to ten years relevant experience

  • High School diploma GED or equivalent is required; Bachelor degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field and a minimum of 4 years IT operational maintenance experience or equivalent is preferred
  • Experience with DNS, DHCP, IPV4, IPV6, Cisco Products (Routers, Switches, Wireless Client, Wireless controllers, etc) F5 load Balancers, Network Solutions Domain administration, Entrust Certificates, Wireless and wired network topologies, and general networking infrastructure
  • Skill Expert level experience in IP networks (routing & switching) and communications.
  • Skill Ability to build strong relationships with vendor and service provider counterparts, experience in an outsourced IT and/or consulting environment, strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skill Ability to troubleshoot with cross-functional infrastructure (firewalls, load-balancers, servers, etc.) and application teams on various issues. Ability to provide analysis expertise between teams along with packet capture analysis and forensic inspection.
  • Skill Ability to develop and lead network and telecommunications projects as well as communicate the project's vision and plan to all stakeholder levels.
  • Professional certifications such as CCNA or CCNP are preferred
